Following are most frequently asked questions from customers.
Yes.
Galvanic action occurs when ROVAL makes direct contact with steel or galvanized surface.
Do not use any primers or other normal paint under ROVAL.
Remove all the contaminants on the surface before application.
Please meet following three points for optimum performance.
1. Surface Preparation
Expose clean bare metal surface by proper preparation method.
For steel surface, sandblasting or power tool cleaning is sufficient.
For galvanized surface, clean with hand tools.
2. Adequate Agitation
Agitate the products well to obtain uniform density.
3. Sufficient Film Thickness
Anti-corrosion performance is proportional to film thickness.
Do not spread too thinly.
(Apply 1.6 mil films twice to obtain total film thickness 3.2 mil.)
<Conventional air spray>
Dilution: Up to 5% of weight with PCBTF thinner.
Nozzle chip aperture: 1.5 - 2.0 mm
<Airless spray>
●Nozzle chip aperture: GRACO GGO-317 minimum
●FILTER: #50 - 60
●Pump ratio: 30 : 1
If the old film is not a ROVAL product, remove it thoroughly before application.
If the old film is a 96% ROVAL product, remove all the contaminants on the surface before application.
NO.
Impurities from welding will compromise the performance of ROVAL.
Remove them by proper methods before application.
